Temper three....

Post by Natasha on Thu 5 Mar 2015 - 10:18

So I think I have created a monster....
My 3 year old is driving me insane. She cries for everything and is always fussy and moaning all the time.
She does not give enough space for her sister to be close to me and is always in charge.
I cant keep hiting her to discipline her I don't know what else to do.
please help any advise??
And she does not believe in time out cause if I put her in then she just comes out.....

I think the three's & fours are the worst ages!
Instead of smacking try taking things away from her, it works like a charm!
They feel more punished when something like a toy or game gets taken away from them for bad behaviour... & they seem to listen to you faster!

I agree with Doogz. Take away what she most loves. You will see that is the fastest that they listen.

Just last night we took away the TV for a while from Zeke. Its like he is a TV monster. Yesterday he was home all day, and literally watched tv most of the day. When I got home I switched the tv off. He cried for half an hour. This morning he says to me - Mommy if I listen to you and daddy can I watch tv? I said yes but no tv today. I could see that he was sad, but accepted that and he listened to me this morning.

So taking away things helps!

That is the thing she does not have a favourite toy....she broke all of them lol.
I can maybe take her nesquick away that she loves but that is all she has to eat,she has no appetite as well.....
I wish I could just have a wand and put her in mute......I swear my neighbors think I am killing her the way she screams all the time.

Natasha are you giving ehr any multivits?

I found that Zeke had a very bad appetite. We then started him on chewable multivits, and he is now on Centrum and his appetite is very good now. But also he eats ALOT more now.

I see you say you have created a monster, do you mean by that, that you kind of spoiled her, seeing that she doesn't want to eat etc? Does she only have nesquick and sweets?

It's quite a difficult one and if you cannot take anything away and you cannot give her time out and spanking her doesn't work, then maybe you need SuperNanny wink

Eish adele I really think I need Super nanny .....
Yes we have spoilt her but we also spoil her sister the same way,and he sister listens to me.
By her being the youngest she does get away with a couple of things...
She only listens to her dad btw.
She does eat when she wants to and if she doesn't like my food then she will not eat,I think if she is really hungry she will eat...

It sounds a bit like ADHS, however I hope it is not and just her age..
I would just take her Nesquik away, it is unhealthy anyway. Does she maybe eat too much sugar? This could make her be hyperactive.
