Jetting off to the UK soon....

Post by Honey on Fri 25 Jul 2014 - 13:00

Most of my trips are done during winter, but this will be my first UK summer. Anyone been there during summer? It seems they want to faint at 27 degrees while for me it's just another day. Trying to figure out how to pack, My previous trip I went from 34 degrees celcius the day I left and touched down in -2 degree weather. This time its vice versa.

that sounds like fun Honey. is it a work trip or holiday? or both? Smile

I have no first hand experience but I'd say their summer is probably similar to our spring weather?

when are you going?

Well I'm supposed to fly out the 15th, but unless the planes stop falling out of the sky, I might consider shipping myself over!

I travel for work, but I always add a few days holiday on either side. I'm thinking the weather would be like our spring. The town is gorgeous in winter, with christmas lights everywhere, and last year I got to see the Santa run, when all the male Oxford students dress up as Santa and run through the town.

Alleycat, it's unlike anything you've ever seen before. Like a timewarp. Most of the buildings are centuries old, and the scenery is breathtaking. My favourite place in the world!

I have never really been bothered much with traveling but sometimes I am sorry I did not pack my bag after school and went to discover places like this

This is an email I got from a colleague in London last week

"I'm well thanks and we're expecting a high of 25 degrees today, yippee. I have to tell you, about 2 weeks ago at my train station they kept having announcements to take care on the trains as the temperatures are very high, they were also giving away free bottles of water in case people felt faint….the temperature was 20 degrees!! Too funny."

I really laughed my ass off at this one!!!!

To add to this message, the girl is from Durban, so she knows heat!

I was there around this time and if I remember correctly it was lovely comfortable weather, started getting chilly only at night and unless it rained, days were spent in shorts...
