Post by Kerryw on Mon 14 Jul 2014 - 7:14

hi

i know i should talk to landie about this but i thought i would also ask you guys
Summer is growing nicely but her head is a bit small.
the nurse that measured last week did not seem worried but i have a big head (one ize fits all hats generally dont fit) my boys both have big heads and dh is not small? when should i worry ?

She smiles holds her head up and is very interested in everything around her so no developmental probs.

I am not sure but if the nurse are happy it should be good, why don't you check in with your pead?

Kerry my only suggestion is to have head measured regularly like once a month to see if it increases and if you are still worried have it checked by your ped. I am not sure when the top Fontanelle should be closed completely, but I know it should not close too early. If I remember correctly it should be completely closed by 18months? Maybe she is just tiny? But you should have a chat with Landie xz

Personally I wouldn't worry, but I'd suggest you swing by the paed?

Lilly - Annabelles fontanelle is still open .... she turned 19 months yesterday. Id say there is still a spot about the thickness of my finger that still needs to close ...

Kerry I agree with Monz and Lilly.... just have her head measured once a month but please go to the Paed. Nothing to worry if her is still growing every month, maybe she is just petite.. But rather have her checked out by the PAed...

Good luck. If you want to talk you know where I am.
