If I can't beat it within 3-5 days, I take them. Depends also how they are feeling. If it's just snots, then I just try something else, but coughing, fever all that jazz, I try to kill first, then I take them.

She only coughs at night, no temp at all. She is happy but Emma is always happy even when she had bronchitis she was happy as anything. So I never know.....

My boys are snotty often in winter I hacve taken them with the snots before they are properly sick adn the dr just tells us to watch them.

it is probably a post nasal drip at night making her cough - I put an extra pillow under thier heads to prop them up a bit more and that helps with teh coughing.

Also the whole of winter we give Deselex (sim to alergex), streptoguard (homepathic antibiotic), if coughing or post nasal I give tonsilyte tabs twice a day, I have also found a nice homepathic cough mixture that helps loosen things that I give throughout winter. SO far we have had only one tonsilitis and that was direct exposure to a very sick baby. Also use saline to try and get as much snot to come out as possible.
