VENT

Post by kajol on Tue 27 Aug 2013 - 9:34

Hi Ladies

well, where to start?
ok, so my LG is going to be 3 soon, and we are totally enjoying her.
we both desperately want another baby, but financially we are not ready yet...
now insert every tom, dick n harry asking you..."so when's the next one arriving", which sends you into total broody mode, just as you start making peace with the fact that it's going to be a while before "the next one arrives"..
it's seriously frustrating...and i'm not going to explain to all and sundry that we are not in the right financial position yet (it's a personal thing)....but its grates my carrots....and i sit here all day feeling sooo broody!!

grrr, just needed to get that off my chest!

Now just imagine, in a few months Zeke is turning 4.. People will always ask stupi questions. We also not in a financial poistion as yet, but we are working on it.

All I say is not now, maybe in a year or 2. And thats it..

I know exactly how you feel! We knew right from the start that we wanted 3 kids but last year we thought that we'll never have another baby because of the whole thing with Wihan and yet people kept on asking "when are you going to for a little girl" I'd be upset, get over it and make peace with it and then another person asked. Finally after I had the chem pregnancy (pregnant on the pill) DH & I decided to stop BC but only started actively trying this cycle.

People are just never happy...
months or weeks after you get married they ask "when is the baby coming"
few months after your first baby is born "when is he or she getting a brother or sister"
when you have 2 boys they ask "when are going to try for a girl"
when you have 2 girls they ask "when are you going to try for a boy"
when you have 3 or 4 kids "when are you going to stop. Haven't you heard about BC"

It is really irritating. I get peed off that people in the first place asks questions like this and secondly then tries to convince you for instance that "you will never have enough money" or this or that. They always have solutions

thanks for the response ladies, helps to know im not alone in this.
oh yes Adele, thats a Famous line!

Yes Alleycat, exactly! Whilst we are currently not in dire straits (thank God), we aren't in a position to give another child the absolute best, according to OUR way of life...

one repsonse i give is - "when you are willing to fund it"....that shuts them up.
i dont like to be nasty, and ordinarily i wouldn't care wtf they are saying or asking....its just that it presses right on that broody button, with no way of really making it happen atm!

I had to tell someone three times on my FB on Sunday that we do not want children.

I share your frustration Kajol but on a whole other level - people trying to convince me to have children and how I miss out on the love of a child and I have heard that I will never experience THAT kind of love that a child gives you and I must make my parents - grandparents and and and...

How many times do I have to say No, we do not want children...and I really try and keep calm but you can't.

I tell people straight out that we cannot have more children. This usually makes them so uncomfortable they do not ask again and hopefully it teaches them not to ask these questions to people. If you can tell people straight you dont want children, you might as well be straight if you cant have any either.
