Post by Kirsten on Thu 4 Apr 2013 - 11:51

Hi Mama's

How is everyone coping?

We seem to either be getting the hang of things or have gotten used to the new normal - not sure which Smile

When does baby have to go to Pead checks? Ive been told so many different ages.

Cause my twinnies were prem it was more regular.

Six weeks, six months, a year, 2 years. I never took mine back after that as all the doctors / specialists I had to see afterwards ironically lend me to discovering the next problem(s). We went to the audiologist as the paed said Erin was not responding to sounds. We then started going regularly to the audiologist and she then referred me to my GP as she suspected they needed grommets so we eventually ended up at the ENT. After the grommets and as tey got older we ended up removing the tonsils. The paed also referred me to a Urologist as Wade used to wee sideways and that ended up in me seeing a Urologist and three ops later!

So I have not been back to the paed since as I have ended up trusting my gut and now we tey are sick we ony go to the GP. She is excellent and far more affordable.

But my advice after a year just go at two years again or go to your GP if you trust him or her.

Gosh poor wade Joleen , our pead said that connors skin was tight and he may need a circumsion but so far so good. We also put in grommets last year adn need to do them again. One month after they fell out the boys have already each burst an ear drum!!

But we did 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months and 12months at the pead with a number of visits inbetween as the boys were often sick and even when we went to the GP we were refered to the pead :Mad two bloody fees for one illness. so after that for the frist 2 years we just went straight to teh pead. Now we just go to our GP.

6 weeks, 6 months, 12 months, 18 months, 24 months, 3 year, 4 year,5 year and 6 years.

some say its a waste of money and unnecessary, well its not trust me, they check everything. Our pediatrician was concerned about W and referred him and at the age of 2 we got a diagnosis and because he is still so young and early diagnosis we have a chance at reversing his diagnosis.

D is also back on 6 monthly checks because of his asthma
