Clinic weigh-in

Post by elleznom on Mon 18 Feb 2013 - 8:00

So today was my 4 week weigh-in at the Slender Wonder clinic. I have lost a total of 8,2kg's in this 4 weeks and as per my scale a total of 10,2kg's in the past 6 weeks. cm's overall have gone down a lot (I didn't make note of their measurements) but will measure myself again tomorrow morning. My BMI and body fat went down significantly as well. Fat by something like 5% and BMI is from 33 (or 35) to 27 (if I remember correctly). I really feel SOOOOOO much better already and I can see and feel a major difference already. I also "feel" different mentally and emotionally, hard to explain, but DH says it's as if I am a complete different person, one he likes even more. So continue, I will!

I am now still on the injection for 2 weeks, then I go over to the PLA tablets (same function as the injection) and then the Moderate eating plan, with a bit more choices of food as well as increased portion size overall.

Next clinic appointment will be 18 March. Looking forward to seeing what the scale throws back at me then!

xxx

Re: Clinic weigh-in

Post by Gabby on Mon 18 Feb 2013 - 10:03

That's fantastic Monz well done!!

It is amazing how much better you feel on this diet. I wonder if it is the injections or the supplements? I just have so much more energy it is incredible - despite not eating very much.

I have my weigh-in again tomorrow (I have had to go every 2 weeks). I weigh 65 (my goal) on the dot today so I have lost 5.5kgs in 4 weeks. Her scale is 600g more than mine so i will not be at "goal" on her scale tomorrow unless I lose 600g today which probably wont happen.

I am trying to decide if i must still fork out for another 2 weeks of the injections. Apparently you can still lose like 2kgs on go moderate. So if that is possible i dont see the point of paying for more injections. It will be another R2 500 for me for another 2 weeks of jabs plus two weeks go moderate...

It's getting a bit expensive. I am thinking I should maybe just go onto the PLA and carry on with the other supplements.

I think 65 is a sustainable weight for me. It is what I always weighed before Cameron. I just think if I lose more it wont be sustainable and I will put it all on anyway so it will be a waste to fork out a further R2.5k

What do you think?

I prefer the way my friend's doctor works out the costs. He charged R1800 for the first 4 weeks and R600 for injections. Then she pays for injections and supplements separately. R600 per week of the jabs etc etc

My lady seems to create these packages and I feel like I am paying more than what other people pay. I am going to ask her tomorrow what it will cost to rather do the PLA and supplements and start go-moderate

Congrats Monzelle!

It's such a great motivator when you see progress!

What's in the injections - just vitamins etc or appetite suppresants?

Re: Clinic weigh-in

Post by elleznom on Mon 18 Feb 2013 - 10:37

Gabs, our is worked out like this: 1st month - R2400 (all injections, consultation, vitamins and shake) 2nd month - R2200 (2 weeks of injections, your PLA, vitamins and shake (took chocolate this time, YUM!) and 3rd month - R1500 (I am guessing, vitamins, shake and PLA) from there I am pretty sure it will stay on R1500pm until you reach goal, then you pay the yearly fee for maintenance. (Not sure of the cost, we didn't go that far into the thing)

But I really wanted to do another round of injections, so I am happy with the way I am doing it now. Remember, I have (on their scale) still 15,5kg (clothed) to loose, on mine, 13,8 (naked).

I also bought the recipe book today and WOW!!!

Gabs, you don't have that much to go, so I'd go moderate if I were you.

You have done so well, congrats my friend!!!

Ok I am gonna sleep on it. My hubby says I should just do the next two weeks. we are going away in March with friends so he said give it stick now and lose as much as I can so that if I happen to gain 2kgs on holiday it wont be a train smash. I worked it out that I will be in my first week of stablisation when we go away if I do two more weeks of injections and then go moderate for 2 weeks.

Already it seems that my doctor is charging R300 more for the second month than yours does. hmmmmffff

Gabs, then I'd say go for it, you can't inject for longer than 6 weeks (apparently, as your body will become "immune") so while you can still continue, do it.

How was the weigh-in?

Re: Clinic weigh-in

Post by Gabby on Tue 19 Feb 2013 - 7:30

Well as luck would have it, I hopped on the scale this morning and I was 65.3. So I had gained 300g. Probably because I am constipated as all hell.

So on her scale was 66kgs. So not at goal in her or my eyes so I saw that as a sign and just decided to do the last 2 weeks of injections. So forked out R2600 this morning for the next month of supplements, shake and the 2 weeks of injections.

Apparently my stabilisation month will set me back R2000... not 1500 like yours... MMMMM.... I thought prices would be standard but anyway. I get two weekly consults though so maybe thats why? You only go once a month hey?

Maybe it's the consults yes, we only do once a month, the doc just gives me a double booster every 4 weeks.

Gabs, well done on the loss so far, it's great, don't fret about the 300g, tomorrow it will be gone! Especially with the next 2 weeks of injections.

Did you look at the recipe book?

Ok so it's the consults which are making mine extra. and I get the booster shot every 2 weeks.

Ja I hope I can get to 64 then at least I will be 65 on her scale no matter what. She told me to get some probiflora for the constipation. Ive been eating peaches as my fruit but maybe I should change to apples. It might help.

No i forgot to ask about the recipe book. She mentioned it at my first consult but said she would show me when I go onto stabilisation. I think I will get it. Are the meals nice?

It's fabulous!

They give you measurements for every meal according to SB (Simeon B) GM (Go Moderate) ST (Stabilisation) and MN (Maintenance)

Last night DH was looking through it (it even has desserts) and every page he was like, Oooooooh we have to make this, ooooh wait, this, etc.

They also tell you what portion of what is used per meal.

It's lovely!
