Ok, now apparently it is R2400 four 4 weeks (inclusive of consultations, injections and supplements).

Does that sound right Monz? What are you paying?

I asked if I am a candidate if I have 6kgs to lose and she said yes. What I am allowed to eat and the regmen will just be different than if I had 20kgs to lose. But she says she even has clients who want to lose 2kgs. Maybe 6kgs isnt a lot and I could probably do it in a cheaper way but I really have tried everything I know and I lose 2kgs only to gain them again. Nicholas is 3 now so for 3 years I have not been able to get this 6kgs to budge

Do you think I am wasting money? is there another good / cheaper diet that someone can recommend?

She is phoning me later when she has her diary so I havent booked an apt yet...

It's the same I am paying Gabs. R2400 for 4 weeks, supplements and injections included, as well as Dr's consultation fees.

They say you can loose 5 - 7 (some have exceeded 10kg's) in 4 weeks. So one round should be enough for you!

You start with the stimulation phase, inject every morning and eat what you want and more, especially fatty meals for 2 days. (So your fat cells are at max)

Then you detox for 3 days. 300g fruit - 3 x a day and your shake in the morning (inject as well + supplements)

Then your weight loss meal plan starts, shake in the morning (inject every day + supplements) lunch, dinner and snacks are set out. (You have 2 main meals and a third lighter meal - which is normally your shake and 1 portion starch + 1 portion fruit)

Once at goal, you do a stabilisation phase for 1 month (no more injections) and then you are on the maintenance plan after that.

I need something to kick me into gear, and by luck I have a sponsor for this.

ja I think the cost should be a motivator for me and to finally lose weight. If I carry on like I am at the moment - 6kgs is gong to turn into 20 quite fast

Ok girls, you have motivated me! I just went on slender wonder's website and it turns out there is a doctor who can help me with it and he is just a block away from where I live. I really want to start first thing Feb, just have to double check the finances first.

Agreed Gabby!! The cost alone should be enough motivation!!

That's the thing, if you f*ck up, you pay a shit load!

The Dr. told me of a lady that asked him what happens if she doesn't loose weight, he said, then he'll chase her out the door, there is NO WAY it won't work, unless you don't stick to the rules or cheat yourself. For that price, who would want to!!!

They prefer you don't weigh yourself until your first weigh in in 4 weeks, so I'll update on weight loss on the 18th of Feb. But I will take measurements tonight and maybe weekly and see what happens.

I am really determined to do this!

I aim to loose just over 20kg's, so I am guessing I'll do this for at least 12 weeks before I reach stabilisation and maintenance...

Hi Monz! How is it going?

I started the injections on Wednesday and was allowed to eat what I liked Wed and yesterday. Now I am on 3 days of detox - only fruit til Sunday. I dont know how I am going to survive the weekend. At 15:00 on Friday it is wine time for me.

I missed my coffee this morning. Yikes I dont know what I have gotten myself into.

How are you doing?

Hey Gabs!

That eat what you like is hectic. I had to from the Monday - Wednesday, my detox started yesterday. It's tough, but I'll push through! The injections is not as bad as I thought, hardly feel them anymore.

I start my meal plan on Sunday, I can't wait. It's not much, but at least there is some meat!!!

Overall, doing well. The Epsom salts was disgusting to take on the last night of the "eat as much as you can" round and the KL Cleanse is horrible. The rest is fine. I like the shake!

Re: Slender Wonder or Dr. Cohen?

Post by Gabby on Mon 28 Jan 2013 - 7:03

So I made it through the detox weekend... It was quite hard I must be honest. On Friday I had a moereva bad headache the whole day.

Saturday we went to my niece's birthday and I had to watch everyone chuck back cake and sausage rolls and wine.

By the time we got home I was in a foul mood cos I was starving and drained. My hubby of course sat on his gat sipping windhoek lite with the okes while I did the usual running around after kids. I was thinking what the hell have I gotten myself into. Being chubby is a small price to pay for enjoying your life right! But I persevered.

Yesterday was much better. I think you reach a state of acceptance. I also found that yellow cling peaches are far more filling than apples. I must admit I cheated by drinking sprite zero instead of just water and herbal tea.

So I broke the rule and got on the scale this morning and I am down 2.4kgs since Wednesday. So now I am inspired and motivated to keep going.

I am also excited because I actually get to eat something savoury instead of just fruit today.

I am just thinking that once you've made it to your goal weight and you''re on the stabilisation phase, is it possible to enjoy a glass or 3 of low cal wine with soda? I can handle being this strict til I lose the weight but I also want to enjoy my life too. At the same time I dont want to regain the weight and mess up all my hard work. I guess I am just worried about rebound weight gain and balancing having a life with sticking to a healthy eating programme...

How was your weekend Monz? Are you hungry with the amount of food they allow on the Simeon B?

Re: Slender Wonder or Dr. Cohen?

Post by elleznom on Mon 28 Jan 2013 - 7:20

Hey Gabs.

I also cheated and cheated. Got on my mom's scale and it looks like 4kg's so far.

I "started" my Simeon B plan yesterday (this weekend was tough, we slept at my parents on Saturday night, celebrated my grandfather's birthday on Saturday, had a christening yesterday morning and my other grandmother's birthday yesterday. So I was screwed.)

On Saturday I had one 2cm piece of boerewors and then my fruit as well as my water, I did not fall for any cakes or things - I had a lick of my sisters plate after she finished her milk tart!!! Laughing

Yesterday was tough as there wasn't really anything for me to eat and I didn't take anything with.

At the christening I had 1 meatball, a tiny sausage roll and half of Joshua's samoosa that he didn't want, I also had one 2 x 2 cm piece of cake. Fail, but at least I practiced some restraint.

At my gran's I had mostly cucumber pieces, tomato, chick pea's, gherkins, some feta and 3 olives (the last 4 are a no go at this stage, but anyway).

I figured my protein is messed up already, so I had 3 meatballs, 1 riblet, 2 smears of a tuna pate and a small piece of oxtail. For the rest I just had veggies. Last night I didn't eat, so I just had a shake.

This morning I felt it though, my stomach was in such a wonky state after yesterday, I considered drinking some epsom salts again just to flush. But today I have everything packed and weighed to the letter.

I know I cheated some, but I didn't feel as bad, I was on my first day of "eating" I think had it been 3 weeks in already, I probably would have made different choices.

All in all, now that I can have coffee again (the milk is an issue for me though) and eat meat, I feel much better.

Looks like 3cm around the waist so far as well...

Decaf doen ek anyway, so dit pla my nie.

Gabs, I have the same approach though, I want to get to goal and then I'll adjust some and see. I will not gain back, but I am not going to sit and smile while my hubby eats at Spur once a month or something. So there are some things I can part with for time, some things not.

LOL! Shame it is faarking hard when there are social things to go to - people expect you to eat and drink. As you say it was your first day on the plan so you are still "uninitiated" if you think about it. It will get easier when you are into it and make better choices.

The dr said I must plan ahead and now I see what she means. Is is still going to be hard. We have braais with friends and parties etc almost every weekend. I dont know how I am going to cope but I am taking it one day at a time

Your tummy feeling wonky - that is something my friend who has done this said to me. She said when you eat something not on the plan you feel sick the next day for some reason. Maybe it's the fat in the food?

I just keep on thinking of the money. I have forked out R2400 now and I am determined not to have to pay for another month... So it will just be the R2 000 for stablisation - IF I AM GOOD AND REACH MY GOAL. I just think anything over that is getting excessive so I must apply myself so that I dont have to spend so much. It was what got me through the weekend.

Now that I have weighed myself - the weight loss is spurring me on.

I am a terrible picker and always sticking my fiengers in to taste food while a cook and in the cupboard picking at biltong and flings or whatever. When I am at parties I pick at bits and pieces as well.

So I have been chewing gum like its going out of fashion - cant pick at chips when you have gum in your mouth! It's helped me a lot but my jaw is actually sore today....

We can do this!

I get what you mean. Yes, first day, so I didn't feel as bad. But I have planned for the week and I am sticking to it. Hubby got a lunch box with tuna, cucumber and tomato as well today, so he is doing it with me.

At least we can do rump/fillet, so braai's are okay, it's the side dishes that floor me!

We can and we will do this!!!

I can't go over 12 weeks, if it takes that long, I hope it doesn't.

So Sash, youve been off the diet since October and havent gained more than a kilo back?

How many months did you do the weight-loss phase with injections for?

Do you still watch what you eat? I see with maintenance they say eat mostly low gi foods and do the go moderate diet on thursdays and mondays. Do you do that? Do you allow yourself a glass of wine etc?

I've gained 2kg back since October. I eat what I like, drink coke, use sugar and full cream milk BUT during the week I still use my drops and shake (with water) and dont over eat. I prefer healthier food over greasy crap and check my weight atleast once a week.

When we got back from holiday I wanted to lose what I gained so I did another 3 day detox and the extra weight was gone.

My initial plan was to be (a little) strict during the week and relax over weekends.

I only used the products for 3 months, couldn't afford another month... I want to do it again for 1 month before I buy winter clothes as I have boggerol that fit!

I refuse to buy bigger pants than a 10/12, depending on brand. And I've never fitted into anything smaller than a 12/14 top(think it's how I'm built) Even before I had kids and weighed 8kg's less than I do now I was a 10 bottom 14 top. I'm happy with it, just seriously need to tone.... :affraid It's shocking how quickly your skin can stretch and how slow it shrinks....

The drops can be used instead of the injections and on maintenance you use the drops and shake.
