Granny is still ok.
Saw her last night.
Bit deurmekaar still, but it must be the medication.

She is not allowed to go home and must stay in the hospital with 24/7 care. There must be someone with her all the time.

Thanks Lameez. But she doesn't have long to live. She gave up fighting. We are just waiting for her now to take her last breath. Dr's gave her 3 months. It's been now almost 2 months. She is not going to see end of June. Bawl Eyes Out

Re: Please keep my Granny in your prayers

Post by Tanja on Fri 1 Jun 2012 - 10:46

My Granny is coming out of the hospital tomorrow. Medical aid can't pay more for the hospital as she has been there over a week already. The drip she's got (big bag with white liqued in) costs over a R1000 a bag and she had 4 of them while she's in hospital. She needs to be on that now the whole time as far as I understand what my aunt told me.

I spoke to my aunt just now and she said that my gran is going to stay with her this weekend. She has appointed someone to look after my gran this weekend at her house.

Between my 2 aunts they are trying to find a place and someone to look after her 24/7. She is not allowed to be alone anymore. She must have someone with her all the time. They can get a place close to my aunts house for R900 per day, that is R30 000 a month which is a lot of money. My aunt phoned the medical aid to find out if they will pay for the care for her so we are waiting to hear now what they are going to say.

My gran is now like a baby all over again. My grandfather was the same before he died. It breaks my heart. Bawl Eyes Out

Please keep her and my family that is going through this difficault time in your prayers. :angelpray1:

My granny is home and the medical aid agreed to pay for a nurse to take care of her. The nurse is starting tomorrow and she needs to help my gran get dressed, feed her, bath her and also help her going to the loo. She can't do anything for herself anymore.

I'm just very glad that there will be someone to take care of her now. That puts my mind at ease.

True Emerald, but also just the thought of seeing her suffer so much with pain and everything does not make it easy. It's very hard on me at the moment.
I know it sounds ugly but I wish for my gran's sake that the suffering will get to an end. It is not nice to see her suffer so much. I don't know her that way. She was always full of energy and always willing to go somewhere and do things. Now it is a total different story Bawl Eyes Out

Sorry you are going through this. I t is not nice to see anyone suffer. I know, when my FIL had lung cancer, it was just so terrible to see him in the last stages, and when he passed away, everyone was sad, but atleast we knew that he was in no pain anymore. I am praying for your family.

My gran called all the children, grandchildren to come and say goodbye on Sunday Bawl Eyes Out
We all thought that this was it, but she is still with us.

Went to see her on Tuesday night and when I got there about the whole family was there and the doctor.
The doctor said with all the morphine she is on (10ml every 4 hours and morphine patches) she is not supose to be with us anymore and with that the morphine is causing her body to be very toxic and that will eventually move up to the brain and she will past away.

At this moment I wish that God will come and fetch her as she is in such a lot of pain and it is very hard for all of us to see her suffer like that. It is not fair as she is a good person and was all her life Bawl Eyes Out

There are days that she doesn't even know who she is.

Please keep us in your prayers.
