Pedometers

Post by Mandri on Wed 8 Feb 2012 - 10:07

Do yourself a favor and invest in one! Okay maybe not invest, its R40 at Game.

I wore it yesterday for the first time and really tried to be more active than usual.

A "normal person" does between 3000 - 4000 steps a day. But to loose weight you need to do 10 000+. Doesn't sound like a lot? Think again! I did 7700 yesterday and I was so tired last night! I burnt about 2000kj just being more active. Still far from the 10 000 but going to try to get as close as possible in the next week!

I am going to go have a look over the weekend, sounds cool!

Now I am dying ... so the ladies here inspired me to try out the spinning, have not gone yet for a class but working myself up for it. The past two nights I did 20min per night ... not too bad, hard but not too bad. It just really hurts in between your legs. I got home last night and said to DH it feels like “she” down there have brain damaged after that!! J (burns about 300 calories per 20min – not a lot but it is a start)

Alleycat - your bum will get "spin-hard" later on and then you wont feel a thing. Otherwise you can get yourself a gel seat that you can use in the beginning but you will find the more you spin, the less it hurts.

I still think spinning is awesome!

I had one a few years back from discovery but it kept giving issues that it wouldn't register the steps so I gave up eventually but I do agree it's very difficult to do 10 000 steps in a day unless you on your feet up and down all day.

Good luck ladies.
