1 st timer

Post by chantellelindsay on Mon 17 May 2010 - 9:30

Hi There ! I would like to introduce myself............... and share my story with you .............

My name is Chantelle Lindsay and this is my Story ....................

In November 2007 I found out that I was pregnant after years of suffering from PCOS, endiometrioses, etc..
All in all I have had 25 laporoscopies/historoscopies all to together !!! This was such an awesome suprise.... cause I have made peace with the fact that I will never be a mommy.............. But God had other plans for my life !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At 20 weeks into my pregnancy my membranes ruptured (because my cervix was incompetent due to all my previous ops) and I was put on full bedrest. At 26 weeks our little angel , Reese made her appearance into this world weighing a mere 820 grams......

Anitually the first few weeks in ICU went well but then after a month things took a turn for the worst and the doctors suggested we transfer her to a bigger hospital.

I personally believe that the transfer there via helicopter worsened the situation due to the air pressure affecting her lungs even further........... for another 3 and a half months I had to watch my baby suffer, surviving 1 setback after the other..... battling to breath............. having to endure countless needles entering her hourly every day.............. yet she kept on fighting............ and we kept on praying, begging God to make our angel better............ Then the dreaded day came on 01 August 2007................ She had another setback and this time the docters told us she is suffering.............. I could see that my angels fighting spirit was gone..... she was tired........ she needed to go home ............!!! And i made the decision (daddy could not) ...... we put the machines off..... At that moment ............. I literally felt my heart stop beating.......

For months I bargained with the Lord asking why and how................ and once again WHY !!!!! I was angry with the whole world...... including my husband (as a man he tried to be the strong one) not showing his emotions , not mourning (I thought), Not hurting (I thought) and I just hated him for that............. cause it felt like I was dying inside..................... I did not want to get out of bed in the mornings...........

Eventually with the help of my amazing mom, sister and absolute awesome friends , I started functioning normally again................... but still crying every single day and feeling very depressed most of the time...

I decided to go and see a pschiatrist who also lost a child not so long ago........... He also being a man explained my husbands reactions, emotions and feelings and I started seeing the bigger picture................. I owe my relationship with my hubby to this wonderfull man............ Slowly the anger towards my husband sudsided................... and slowly the anger towards God as well.............. I started having hope again.............

Hope ......................... I forgot what that felt like....... and I decided THAT I WILL HAVE A BABY !!!!!!

We visited a fertility specialist , he suggested that I first of all have a procedure done, that would strengthen my cervix, which I did. A few months later after failing to fall pregnant we did an AI.............. UNSUCCESSFULL!!! I was crushed !!!!!!!!!!!! It was like loosing Reese all over again...........

Me and my husband decided that we would go on holiday, relax and forget about babies (or try anyway)......

Whilst on holiday somebody told us about anothet fertility dr , and funny enough I have heard about him a few times before............... As we got back home.. I made an appointment with him, we had our first consultation...... And I thought wow, what an amazing man ................ he had so much compassion with what we went through.............. He asked me after about 2hours "ok so when do you want to be pregnant" and I thought wow, he makes it sound so easy............. Anyway we decided on doing invitro and our whole cycle injections , pills etc started on 12 Feb................... we then transferred 2 eggs back............ and the waiting game started...................... 2 weeks after that after doing a hpt it was POSITIVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

3 WEEKS later at our appointment with "my now hero of a docter" we discovered that we are having twins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was overwelmed with joy !!!!!!!!!1

Currently I am 15 weeks pregnant..................... and I have to admit very scared............. but I am taking this pregnancy day by day, resting as often as I need to, and most important off all praying and trusting in God...................... knowing he knows best !!!!

Chantelle.... nothing like making my mascara run on a Monday morning.

You have been through a horrnendous ordeal but all I can say is that you have come to the right place for the love and support you will need to get through this pregnancy and your feelings of losing your angel. Welcomegroup

I pray that this pregnancy will develop without any problems and that soon you will be holding your angels.

We look forward to sharing this journey with you.

We have another exceptionally special set of twin boys arriving on Wednesday who have taken a very long and challenging time to get here.

Being a part of this forum I have learned that nothing is impossible.

Good luck and welcome once again!
